Prescription Drug Discount Programs

There are many different Prescription Drug Discount programs out there and more seem to pop up all the time. Rx Discount Programs are just that..a discount program. 

These are not a form of Prescription Drug Insurance and do not meet the minimum standards for creditable coverage. 

That being said, they can help when you've been prescribed a medication that isn't covered, or covered poorly, by your current prescription drug plan(PDP). When you use a Prescription Drug Discount Program, your prescription is not processed through your PDP and therefore, the amount you spend doesn't count towards your deductible, donut hole, or catastrophic coverage for each calendar year.
